MYOPIA
Myopia is the visual disturbance in which distant objects are blurred . Usually occurs in childhood and can be developed up to about 18 years , where it usually stabilizes . But there is a possibility that it will appear at an older age , especially if we use very frequently electronic devices , pc screens etc. When we have myopia , it is difficult to see distant objects but we don’t have any problens at short distance.
WAYS OF DEALING WITH MYOPIA
Myopia can be treated with eye glasses or contact lenses.Pair of glasses is the most common way and we can wear them during the whole day. Glasses , apart from their tangible use value , are also an integral part of our image and aesthetics. In case of high myopia , the choice of glasses is made with specific specifications. Contact lenses on the other hand , do not affect our appearance. However , their long-term use may limit the amount of oxygen our eyes need. Contact lenses provide stable ,safe and clear vision to those who exercise . Contact lenses fitting is a specialized and time consuming process where all specifications must be strictly adhered to ensure a long term solution without problems.
SELECTION OF OPTHALMIC LENSES AND FRAME
The number of myopia will determine the refractive index of the lenses . Refractive index is the number that shows how thin can be the lens that we will use . The bigger the refractive index , the thinner the thickness of the lens.
